Salman Khan Rejected Baazigar Movie: Be it Bollywood or Hollywood, new movies are released here every Friday. Among these, there are only a few films which can be included in the evergreen category. Shahrukh Khan’s film Baazigar, released in 1993, is also one of these. This film had a lot of drama and crime ranging from revenge love. The film proved to be a superhit in theatres. Shahrukh Khan’s acting in the film was also liked a lot. Abbas Mustan’s first choice for this film was Salman Khan. Salman Khan himself has talked about this in an interview given to Indian Express.
Salman Khan kept on becoming ‘Baazigar’
Salman Khan has told in an interview to Indian Express why he had rejected the film Baazigar. The actor said when Abbas Mastan came to me with the script of this film. At that time I had taken advice from my father Salim Khan. The actor said that both of us found this film negative. There was no villain in this film. According to the script, the hero had to play the role of the villain. Because of this, I and my father refused to sign the film.
The mother angle was necessary in the film
The actor said – ‘My father had advised Abbas Mastan to use the mother angle in the film. This would have made the actor look a little less negative. At that time he did not agree to keep this angle. But when he reached Shahrukh Khan, he added the mother angle in the film. The actor said- ‘If I had done the film Baazigar, Shahrukh Khan’s Bungalow Mannat would not have been on the bandstand today. The actor said, I am happy that Shahrukh Khan got a lot of success from this film. Let us tell you that this film had earned Rs 15 crore nett and Rs 32 crore gross at the box office. In the movie Shahrukh Khan Along with Kajol and Shilpa Shetty were also seen in lead roles.
